The Cuillin is a range of mostly jagged rocky mountains on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. This pattern was inspired by a trip to the island with its breathtaking scenery and biting winds!

The Cuillin Cowl is the perfect accessory for cooler weather, combining regular and Tunisian crochet to create a thick, warm fabric. It’s worked top down and in the round. The pattern includes full written instructions as well as a supporting video tutorial.

Size
Finished cowl measures 19.5cm x 60cm/7.75” x 23.5”, blocked.

Gauge
18 stitches by 25 rows in 10cm x 10cm/4” x 4” with 6mm hook in Tunisian knit stitch, blocked. Swatch may be worked flat rather than in the round.

Yarn
The sample shown uses 285m/312yds of Giddy Aunt Yarns Yak DK (60% Superwash Merino, 20% Yak, 20% Silk, 212m/231y/100g) in colour Carnelian.

Yarn alternatives: any DK weight yarn should work well for this pattern. Fibre content is not hugely important but a cosy yarn is recommended!
