This is a Valentines Day inspired colorwork vest worked in panels for the body and using my special colorwork technique to add the cupid image to the front of the vest. The panels are knitted flat and then seamed at the end. Collar and armhole ribbing is added by picking up the stitches. The ribbing is done in an optional half twisted rib.

The colorwork technique requires that you know how to do both the Continental and English knitting methods and definitely takes some getting used to. Once you have the technique down though the pattern is fairly simple!
You can learn how to do both styles here: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=LsFZg2Bn06E&ab_channel=YayForYarn

However, you can also use duplicate stitch to add on the design and absolutely do not need to use the special colorwork technique if it’s too daunting! The option to use duplicate stitch makes this a beginner-friendly pattern. Please note that if you use duplicate stitch you will need slightly more yardage of your MC, so round up if you are between skeins.

This vest was developed in collaboration with The Scranton Stitcher and is knit in her 100% superwash DK weight yarn in the special Valentine’s Day colorways: I Got You Babe (MC) and Cherish (CC).

NB: I am a loooooose knitter so if you are a normal or tight knitter expect to size up in needles to match gauge or go up a weight class for your yarn.

Estimated yardage is as follows:
You will need approx 380(460, 510, 540, 570)(600, 635, 655, 680, 700) yds of main color. Each size should require less than 50g of contrasting color.

The body of the sweater is done without shaping, so measure from the largest part of your torso if this is not your chest. Use the finished chest circumferences below to determine how much ease you want. The pictured sample is knit with negative 1/2” of ease.
XS(S, M, L, XL)(1XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL) for a chest circumference of 28(32, 36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56, 60, 64) inches or 71(81, 91, 101, 111)(121, 131, 141, 151, 163) cm
