This is a pattern to crochet a textured and stylish Curly Coral scrunchie to tie your hair back. Make it for yourself or gift it to someone you know with long hair!

After payment you will have access to two files, one is written in UK terminology and the second is written in US terminology. It is 7 pages long and in full colour, with instructional photographs guiding you through everything. The pattern is written in English and will be available for you to download at any time. The instructions are written out in full with an additional chart using standard crochet notation for those that prefer working from one.

The pattern is designed to fit the typical two inch diameter (10 cm) elasticated ties available everywhere, these are not supplied but I am guessing if you are looking at scunchie patterns to tie your hair up, you probably already have some. This pattern will jazz up plain hair ties into something very special.

As well as a hair tie, you will need approximately 10g (56 metres) of mercerised 2 ply cotton, #10, #12 are suitable. The yarn used in the photographed item is Scheepjes Sugar Rush.

Alternative suggested yarns are Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat, Anchor Freccia 12, DMC Cebelia No. 10, Rico Essentials or DMC Petra 5.

A typical crochet hook to use is 2mm (B/1). Depending on thickness of your crochet thread, you may have to adjust hook size.

You will also need a darning needle to weave in yarn tails.

The pattern is suitable for beginners, as long as you know how to chain, single crochet (double crochet in UK terms) and to make a slip stitch, you will be able to make this scrunchie. The only slightly tricky bit for beginners is getting used to working with fine (2-ply) yarn.
