Curlywhirly is the third of a sock series especially created for
all sock yarns with a color gradient like Zauberball, Lang Mille Colori, Noro Sock, Mini Mochi, Lana Grossa Meilenweit, Poems Sock, Nordlys by Viking of Norway, and many more. It is a fun to knit project as you will always be compelled to see the effect the next color will offer.

Curlywhirly is knitted toe-up. If this is your first attempt to knit socks
from the toe up, this pattern will guide you through all the steps.

Curlywhirly is modular, but you will join all pieces as you go, so no seaming is involved. It is a bit more intricate than the first two of the series: Hurdygurdy or Sockodile. If you haven’t worked with modules before you might want to start with one of them.

Curlywhirly offers written and charted instructions as well as graphics and photo tutorials to demonstrate the architecture of this particular design. This pattern runs over 60 stitches and you will be given a table with all sock sizes to knit your Hurdy-Gurdy socks in your size. Advanced knitters who prefer a wider sock will be able to make the necessary adjustments. Since this pattern has already quite a few pages and the file size is rather large due to all the photo tutorials, I decided not to offer the alternatives as well. If you have purchased the pattern with the intent to knit it over 66 or 72 stitches and find it too difficult, feel free to get in touch with me via email. The 60 stitch version is very stretchy, so you might not find it necessary.

Since Curlywhirly is the third of a series and we all know that three is a charm, I am offering a free pattern of your choice to all of you who post pictures of your finished pair of Curlywhirlies by the 15th of July 2016.

Happy knitting
