Chevron peaks & valleys
Current and Unplugged feature paired increases and decreasese to create chevrons in the knitted fabric, which fit neatly together for seaming or as a showcase for your favourite buttons.
Single pattern includes Tutorials for help with increasing and decreasing: m1L, m1R, ssk, and k2tog.
Refer to materials below for different options. Pattern is adjustable - you can use any yarn you want to achieve different effects and make it as long or short as you like, working until you run out of yardage.
Current
Single Loop Cowl (Super Chunky): Option A
Yarn:
MC: 70m (75yds) needed
CC: 25m (30yds) needed
• Shown in: Twilley’s Freedom Wool 100% pure new wool, 50m (55yds) per 50g in 1110 Kingfisher (MC) and 1101 Pearl (CC)
Needles:
9mm (US 13) needles
Gauge (given after blocking):
10.5 sts and 14 rows per 10cm (4in) measured over Stocking st on 9mm needles, using super chunky
Finished Measurements:
20.5cm (8in) wide by 56cm (22in) long. Sample shown seamed.
Unplugged
Double Loop Cowl (Chunky): Option B
Yarn:
MC: 105m (115yds) needed
CC: 50m (55yds) needed
• Shown in: Rowan Cocoon 80% merino, 20% kid mohair, 115m (126yds) per 100g in 808 Tundra (MC) and 816 Kiwi (CC)
Needles:
6mm (US 10) needles
Gauge (given after blocking):
14 sts and 20 rows per 10cm (4in) measured over Stocking st on 6mm needles, using chunky
Finished Measurements:
• 15 (6in) wide by 109cm (43in) long (measured at edge). Sample shown with optional buttons.
