I used a ripple stitch pattern repeat for this curtain, in a remodel of a powder room. I didn’t write a pattern for for it, but simply followed a ripple repeat of 3 sections with 19 stitches per section. I multiplied and 19” times a good dimension for my window width. It might have to be made a little wider than the window required but you have to keep the 19 stitch 3 section repeat. The width was perfect.

I decided to use different shades of purple and green, with white in between each of those shades. I mainly did it due to wanting to use yarn I already had, and it turned out to be the greatest look I could have gotten for the curtain and the look of the room! the one darker purple about 3/4 up looked especially good.

I used bias tape to make a rod pouch, so I opened it wide and pinned it to the back side, then hand sewed it on with small stitches. The rod fit perfectly and the tape held it in very well. The pattern couldn’t have been better for a curtain, the top and bottom of it looked like a curtain should due to the ripple effect of the pattern.

The top part that stood up above the rod looked especially good, with points standing nicely above the rod itself. No part of the rod or bias tape showed at all. I highly recommend this ripple stitch pattern for any curtain project!
