I have not seen any other examples of Curved Entrelac before, so this is a detailed written pattern about the steps needed to make tiers of blocks which increase gradually in width and height. The scarf can be made with 5 to 18 colours of Cascades 220 Superwash yarn, depending on how many colours you have on hand. The scarf shown is 120 inches at the outer curve. Details of the amounts for each colour are included in the pattern.
Start by making a swatch of 20 stitches x 20 rows to determine the amount of yarn required for the largest block if you are using smaller amounts of leftover yarns. Knowing this yardage for the 400 stitches will help you sort your colours to assign for each tier.
The size of the scarf can be adapted by working fewer tiers before adding the final row of triangles.
There are several ways to join an Entrelac block to the previous tier. This pattern includes a method which results in an outline of stitches at each edge of the blocks. Working in the side loops and back loops only provides some stretch to the final scarf.
Surface crochet is used to add the black lines, as this scarf really suggested a stained glass approach with all its colours.
The scarf can be worked on a regular crochet hook that holds 20 stitches. A hook one size smaller is used to edge the inner curve, and one size larger for the outer curve,
