Note: this listing is a “Knit in the Round” pattern to be knit using double pointed needles.

This is a knitting pattern for a basic Skirt with two EASY Faux Plaid variations. The effect is achieved by slipped stitch colour work, and row colour changes. It does not use the
fair-isle technique, so it is suitable for beginner knitters. The pattern itself is designed for new Curvy Barbie body-style introduced in 2016. The instructions are for Curvy-sized Barbies only.

A Word About Gauge: I design all of my Barbie patterns to be worked in the round on double pointed needles. The absence of the seam allowance and the snug fit are essential for a realistic looking mini-garment. Take the time to test the gauge to make sure you are getting 9 stitches and 13 rows per inch in stockinette stitch. I hold my yarn in my right hand which makes my tension tight, if you are a lefty, you may need to use smaller needles.

It requires light fingering weight yarn or sock yarn and a set of US 1 (2.50mm) double pointed needles. For yarn, I used: Left-over self-striping sock yarn, and Knit Picks Palette.

It knits up quickly in “the round” so there’s no swatching, seaming or sewing. Knit it once, if it could be slightly bigger or smaller, knit it a second time using smaller or larger needles.

The finished skirt slides on easily from the legs up.

This is a row by row pattern, no charts.
