This is a knitting pattern for an off-the-shoulder top with instructions for ALL of Barbie’s body types. Prior to 2016, the existing body styles were: Vintage, Silkstone, Athletic, Made-to-Move, and Classic. I will refer to all of the pre-2016 styles from now on as “Classic”. That’s because they vary only slightly, and one set of instructions will work for all “Classic” body styles. The new body styles recently added were, Petite, Tall, & Curvy.

This pattern Includes instructions for four different sizes in the following order: (Petite) (Classic) (Tall) (Curvy). This master pattern takes into account the “negative” ease required for each class of body type, body shape, and relative armhole and waist placement, so the fit is excellent.

A Word About Gauge: I design all of my Barbie patterns to be worked in the round on double pointed needles. The absence of the seam allowance and the snug fit are essential for a realistic looking mini-garment. Take the time to test the gauge to make sure you are getting 9 stitches and 13 rows per inch in stockinette stitch. I hold my yarn in my right hand which makes my tension tight, if you are a lefty, you may need to use smaller needles.

It requires light fingering weight yarn or sock yarn and a set of US 1 (2.50mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge.

It knits up quickly in “the round” so there’s no swatching, seaming or sewing. Knit it once, if it could be slightly bigger or smaller, knit it a second time using smaller or larger needles.

This is a row by row pattern, no charts.
