Cushion: Ely Cathedral Maze
This cushion cover is based on a labyrinth built by Sir Gilbert Scott in Ely Cathedral. It was specially designed for the cathedral and was considered to be different from ‘traditional’ mazes/labyrinths.
The cushion consists of a filet crochet grid with the maze worked in surface crochet.
The colour of the cushion will show through the grid.

We finally got to visit Ely and took some photos of the real labyrinth. It only took us 18 years to get there!
The last photo is in the same orientation as the labyrinth. It is extremely difficult to photograph as it is immediately inside the door so people are constantly walking over it without even noticing that it is there.
