You’ve heard of Frosty the Snowman, I’m sure. Well this is Custard the Snowman. He started off as a tiny stash busting project (because I had a surplus of white yarn) and wound up being my new favorite Christmas tree ornament! He’s knit in the round on double pointed needles and cinched closed with the cast on and bind off tails. His serene little facial expression is 3 simple duplicate stitches in 2 different colors of yarn. And his accessories are also knit on double pointed needles in whatever color you fancy. I hope he will bring a little whimsy to your knitting needles (and your Christmas tree!)

What you will need:
11 yds (10 m) in any white worsted weight (category 4) yarn (like Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice)
7 yds (6.4 m) in any worsted weight (category 4) yarn (like Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice) in a second color
Scrap yarn for accessories and facial features
7 in (18 cm) of Worsted Weight cotton yarn (like Lion Brand 24/6 Cotton)
4 Size 4 US (3.5 mm) double pointed knitting needles
4 Size 5 US (3.75 mm) double pointed knitting needles
Tapestry yarn needle
Scissors
Polyfil

Skill level: Beginner

Skills needed: Casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, binding off, knitting in the round.
