Meet your new and customizable crochet chromosome! Learn more about chromosomes and impress your science teacher/students with your excellent scientific crochet skills and biology knowledge. This pattern can be crocheted with any size yarn/hook; ensure that crochet hooks and yarn work together to crochet neatly (no significant gaps between stitches, not too tight). You can play around with the hook and yarn size to change the scale of the chromosome. Yardage varies widely according to the yarn and hooks you use and the length of the chromosome’s arms. I used around 2 oz (57 g) or 127 yds (116 m) of Loops and Threads Impeccable Butterscotch #4 worsted-weight yarn for the yellow chromosome in the pattern images.

Materials:

• Yarn and a corresponding hook
• Stuffing
• Stitch marker
• Scissors
• Safety crochet eyes/nose (if desired)
• Darning/yarn needles
