When life hands you lemons… put your hands to better use and crochet! These little amigurumi lemons make terrific companions. Though some come out sweet while others are tart, unlike real fruit they never rot or bruise -- they stay just as fresh as the day you stitched them!
The amigurumi lemon pattern is worked continuously in the round, with a leaf that is worked flat. In worsted weight yarn with an F hook, your lemon will be approximately 3.5” tall and 2.5” across (though gauge is not important for this pattern). To work this pattern, you’ll need the following skills…
- Basic crochet stitches (ch, sc, hdc, dc, tr)
- Crocheting into the beginning chain
- Working increases and decreases
- Counting stitches and rows
- Basic hand sewing
And the following materials…
- worsted weight yarn in yellow (approximately 35 yards) and roughly green (4-5 yards)
- scrap amounts of black yarn for embroidering mouth (and eyes, if desired)
- black safety eyes or buttons (if you don’t want to embroider eyes)
- a small amount of poly fill or other stuffing
