A good program to use with PDFs on tablets is XODO It will allow you to mark off your progress.

This is a graph that will make a large blanket, 300 stitches across and 386 rows high.

Doctor Who fans will love this item. Circular Gallifreyan that says Cybermen. English translation at the top of the blanket.

Figuring out how much yarn you will actually need.

First decide how you are going to work the project.
Knit, Tunisian Simple, Single or Half Double.

I prefer Tunisian Simple so that is what I used to get my measurements, your’s may/will be different.

Create a small swatch with your stitch, yarn, and hook choice.

I used a 5.5mm and I love this yarn. My swatch in Tunisian Simple was 7 stitches across the bottom and 5 rows high creating an almost perfect 2” square consisting of 35 stitches

Now measure the amount of yarn used to create your swatch. (104” for my swatch)

Measurement divided by number of stitches equals the amount of yarn used per stitch.

104”/35=2.9” per stitch. (rounding up to 3” even)

Each pattern has the number of stitches needed for each color in the graph. You’ll take the number of stitches needed and multiply it by your inches per stitch.

IE. 100 stitches * 3” per stitch = 300” of yarn needed

Find yardage by taken the inches of yarn needed and divide it by 36” which is the number of inches in a yard.

IE. 300”/36”=8.334 yards

Need meters instead? Use a conversion calculator to change yards to meters.

IE. 8.334 yards equals 7.62 meters.
