Cycling Hose
by Weldons
“Useful stocking for cycling or general wear is shown in the accompanying illustration, and is worked with 5-ply fingering and four No. 14 knitting needles; it has a handsome turnover, in a bold and effective “plume” pattern, in which wools of three nicely-contrasting colors are introduced; while the leg, knitted entirely with a dark self-colour, consists of alternate depressed and raised ridges. The turnover is about 4 inches in length; length of leg, 17 inches when the turnover is folded; length of foot, 10 inches.“
Yarn amounts called for were 6 oz navy, 3 oz fawn, and 1/2 oz light blue.
