Cygnus
To me, there’s nothing so classical or versatile as white lace. It can be elegant or casual, refined or comfortable - but no matter what, it’s always beautiful.
But many knitters shy away from lace because they think it’s difficult. And that’s the thing I love about feather and fan - it looks intricate, but it’s deceivingly simple to execute. Just one row of easy yarn overs and decreases followed by three rows of stocknit.
When combined with top-down seamless construction, this elegant cap-sleeve cardigan knits up in no time. Because it’s sleeveless, you also don’t need a lot of yarn, so it’s easy to indulge in something
luxurious.
I’ve used undyed Slinky Cat (50% silk/50% merino) to give it a nice drape, but any fingering weight yarn will do. It’s perfect hand-dyed yarns too.
The result is an extremely wearable garment, suitable for warming up a sundress, or dressing up a pair of jeans. It’s so much fun to knit and wear, it won’t be long before you’re casting on another one.
