These mitts have three options for the hand and two options for the thumb, for a total of 6 possible mitten combinations! Choose Your Own Adventure - knit a classic mitten, fingerless glove or convertible mitten, and choose between a fingerless “texting” thumb or classic closed thumb. This pattern is charted with supplementary written instructions.

SIZES:
S/M: Fits a hand circumference of ~6-8 inches
L/XL: Fits a hand circumference of ~8-10 inches

SUGGESTED YARN AND YARDAGE:
Sample is a convertible mitten with texting thumb and uses Istex Lettlopi (heavy worsted weight) in Light Ash Heather (grey, MC), Rough Sea (dark green, CC1) and Celery Green Heather (light green, CC2). Please note individual yardage uses may differ based on yarn, gauge, and mitten version. The below estimates are for the highest amount of yardage needed (convertible mitten with full thumb).

MC: 65 (72) m / 72 (79) yards
CC1: 60 (66) m / 62 (68) yards
CC2: 25 (28) m / 30 (33) yards

NEEDLES:
4.5 mm double pointed needles
Optional: 4.5 mm 9 inch circular needles

NOTIONS:
➢ Stitch marker for beginning of round (BOR)
➢ ~ 2 m (2 yards) contrast waste yarn for convertible mitten flap
➢ Waste yarn or holder for thumb stitches

GAUGE:
20 stitches/26 rows in stockinette over 4 inches (10 cm)
