Cypress Scarf

The Cypress Scarf is part of my Cypress Collection, which uses the popular Moss stitch. It is wonderfully squishy, and ribbing stitches at each end give it a unique look. A great gender-neutral design! Make two in different colors for a his and hers set, or add a Cypress Beanie to create a matching set.

The pattern includes instructions for both a solid, one-color scarf, and a two-color scarf. I have included yardage for worsted (worked with four strands), aran (three strands), bulky (two strands), and super bulky yarns. The yarn pictured is Lion Brand Re-Tweed. It is labeled a worsted weight yarn, however being a recycled yarn, it tends to vary slightly (or not so slightly) in
thickness from color to color and dye lot to dye lot. I have
found that it often feels more like an aran weight, so I have
used three strands for most of my scarves.

This is an easy level pattern (as defined by the Craft Yarn
Council) with written instructions for the foundation single
crochet. In addition to written instructions, there is also a
photo tutorial, for changing yarn colors in the two-color scarf.

worsted (4 strands) - approx 1,040 yds total or 822 yds of color A and 218 yds of color B

aran (3 strands) - approx 780 yds total or 615 yds of color A and 165 yds of color B

Hooks - U.S. P/12 mm and U.S N/10 mm or any hook to meet gauge and a hook 1 size smaller
