Da Fence Hill Gloves
Traditional Fair Isle Gloves
In these I use five colours of Aister ‘oo’ a pure 100 per cent Shetland 2 ply jumper weight wool which is 4 ply weight/fingering yarn. These are knit following traditional Fair Isle knitting methods using no more than two colours in a row where Fair Isle knitting or corrugated ribbing is knit. Small quantities of wool are used in some of the colours charted so ideal for using up oddments of Shetland wool from stash.
The fingers can be full fingers or fingerless - making them the length suited to the recipient.
Size
One-size for average female hand circumference measuring the widest part excluding thumb 7 1/2 inches/19.5cm.
Gauge
32 sts and 30 rounds to 4”/10cm over Fair Isle, after blocking.
Instructions
Written and charted instructions for Fair Isle sections. Photo showing division of fingers and use of safety pins.
