Dachshund Appliqué
I originally designed this lovely dachshund for the ‘Bridget’s Dachshund Baby Blanket’ (also for sale on Ravelry and it INCLUDES this pattern). Of course, this appliqué can be used for a variety of projects. I originally made it out of Alpaca Boucle yarn (not for the beginner!) and acrylic yarn to match the blanket. However, the dachshund can be made of any yarn and in any colour combination, yarn combination or just one yarn/colour. Use your imagination and be creative!
The second yarn I used was Yarn Bee Antoinette - a lovely rainbow boucle. It comes out much larger as it is a bulkier yarn but it’s beautiful. The dachshund is also much easier to make in one yarn than including the striped ‘sweater’. You can add or remove rows on the body to make it as long or short as you want. The rainbow version pictured is 5 rows shorter than the pattern. Boucle is harder to work with but also covers a multitude of hooking sins. :slightly_smiling_face:
Happy hooking! Love, Bridget A for Long Dog Wool Fibre Arts
