Dachshund Lip Balm Cozy
This is probably one of my favorite patterns that I have written! If you are like me I love to crochet but hate to sew together pieces and weave in a bunch of loose ends.
This pattern is written in just two pieces. The legs, ears and tail are all incorporated in the working rounds. No extra tiny little pieces to sew, just attach the head to the body!
The cozy is tight enough to hold the lip balm in place without falling out. It may be a little snug the first time you insert the lip balm tube but trust me it will fit and hold.
Attaching a lanyard hook makes this adorable accessory easy to find when clipped to a zipper or key chain.
I used approximately 16 yards of Lion Brand BonBon yarn for the cozies shown here. I have also used a thinner worsted weight with the same 2.5mm hook and it turned out just as well. That make it perfect as a stash-buster pattern.
Optional materials are tiny plastic eyes and tiny black pom poms for the nose. I also glued tiny rhinestones to a piece of 1/8 inch ribbon for a collar that I glued around their necks.
