All his adult life, my father has packed a bagged lunch for work. And every single day, there are one of two types of cookies: Keebler Fudge Stripes, or these store-brand shortbread sandwich cookies with vanilla filling. Both cookies inspired this design; the center motif is from the shortbread cookies, the two columns of diamond cables pulled from the fudges.

Okay, technically there was a brief foray into wafer cookies, but we’re ignoring that.

Sock construction is pretty standard (for a change!). Instructions for optional calf shaping is included. While I love the silliness of a frilled cuff, the cuff can be bound off pre-ruffle and, due to the cabled rib back of leg and little bit of ribbing on the cuff portion completed, the sock should stay in place.
