The design for this pattern came to me in a dream. As I lay in that semi-conscious state, hovering between sleep and awake, I was working a stitch pattern in my head (probably a sure sign I am officially an obsessed knitter). As soon as I got out of bed, I immediately picked up the needles and started working it into a shawl.
The pattern, which to me resembles dragon scales, is named for one of my favourite characters by one of my favourite authors (George R. R. Martin). Beautiful and strong, Daenerys is “The Mother of Dragons” and she brought dragon kind back to the world.
Knit in Wandering Cat Yarns Top Cat (colour is Vampire’s Kiss), it’s a shawl that is not only beautiful, but will keep you warm and toasty, as if you had your own fire-breathing dragon friend.
