Each winter we have a couple of weeks of very heavy frost and it was then that the idea of the poncho came to my mind as a way of keeping me warm and comfortable at work.

The poncho is not very big and it doesn’t restrain your movements, on the other hand it’s perfectly warm and cozy.

Size: The pattern is written in two sizes, regular and large. The circumference at the neck is 25(28)” / 63(71)cm while the length is adjustable and depends on knitter’s preferences.
The size can also be adjusted by going up or down a needle size, or by changing the yarn weight and adjusting the needles accordingly.

Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. The poncho is knit in the round, you need to know basic increases and decreases.

Needle size and notions: US 4 / 3.5mm circulars or any size that lets you meet gauge, 5 different markers, 4 buttons.

Gauge: 19 sts and 27 rows in stockinette = 10x10cm / 4x4 inches. If necessary, go up or down a needle size (or two) to get the gauge.

Yarn: about 1100 - 1300 yards / 1000 – 1200m of DK yarn that meets the gauge.

My poncho is made with 530g/ 11 skeins/ 1160 yards/ 1060m Garnstudio Drops Lima (65% wool, 35% alpaca, 50g = 109 yards / 100m). The poncho is 20” / 50cm deep (body + final ribbing)

Pomysł na poncho pojawił się podczas największych mrozów, kiedy w pracy zrobiło się zimno nie do wytrzymania i każdy narzucał na siebie kolejne warstwy odzieży. Doszłam wtedy do wniosku, że dobrym rozwiązaniem byłoby takie nie za duże ‘coś’, które ogrzeje, a przy tym nie będzie krępować ruchów ani ciągnąć się za człowiekiem.

Rozmiar: wzór jest rozpisany na dwa rozmiary, standardowy i duży. Obwód przy szyi wynosi odpowiednio 63(71)cm. Długość zależy od preferencji dziewiarki.
Rozmiar można też dopasować robiąc na nieco grubszych lub cieńszych drutach lub dziergając z włóczki innej grubości.

Poziom trudności: poncho jest robione na okrągło, potrzebna jest też znajomość dodawania i gubienia oczek w trakcie robótki.

Włóczka: 1000 – 1200m włóczki dla której 50g = +/- 100m

Druty: na żyłce, 3,5mm lub rozmiar, który umożliwia osiągnięcie próbki.

Próbka: 19 oczek i 27 rzędów ściegiem gładkim = 10x10cm.

Dodatkowo potrzebne: 5 różnych markerów (znaczników), 4 guziki

Moje poncho jest zrobione z Limy Dropsa (65% wełna, 35% alpaka, 50g = 100m), rozmiar stanadardowy, długość (część gładka + ściągacz na dole) wynosi 50cm. Poszło mi prawie 11 motków, poncho jest dziergane dość ściśle.
