Dahlia Sun Hat
This summer hat is the cutest way to keep little (and big!) heads safe in the hot summer months.
With a floral motif on the crown, and a single crochet body, this pattern is written for 6 sizes (Baby, Toddler, Child 3-5, Child 6-10, Adult Small and Adult Large).
Use #4/worsted weight yarn in cotton or a cotton blend and a small crochet hook to give the hat some structure.
To fit head circumference:
Baby: 14”-16” / 35.5cm - 40.5cm
Toddler: 17”-19” / 43cm - 48.5cm
Child (3-5): 20”-21” / 51cm - 53.5cm
Child (6-10): 21”-22” / 53.5cm - 56cm
Adult (Small): 22”-23” / 56cm - 58.5cm
Adult (Large): 23”-24” / 58.5cm - 61cm
Yarn Requirements
Baby: 120 yds / 110m
Toddler: 130 yds / 119m
Child (3-5): 160 yds / 146m
Child (6-10): 190 yds / 174m
Adult (Small): 220 yds / 201m
Adult (Large): 250 yds / 229m
Crown Gauge
As this hat is worked from the top down, it is a good idea to measure your gauge separately for the crown and the body/bucket sections.
- For Baby, Toddler, and Child 3-5 sizes, your circle will measure approx. 4.75” / 12cm in diameter after 5 rounds.
- For Child 6-10, Adult S, and Adult L sizes, your circle will measure approx. 5.25” / 13.5cm in diameter after 5 rounds.
