This pattern comes in one size for a standard scrubbie. Gauge is not crucial in this pattern. It uses two strands of dk weight yarn held together with a 5mm hook for a stiffer fabric. It is perfect for gifts as it takes less than 20 minutes each.

As far as yarn recommendations go, I would pick a synthetic or plant fiber. I made my pink sample in an unknown cotton yarn and my other two samples in Bamboo-tiful. This will provide a lasting scrubbie that has better wear than wool, alpaca, or other natural fibers.
