Daiquiri neck warmer is knitted from top down and will be your soft and faithful companion through the colder parts of the year.
The neckband is knitted in fisherman’s rib, which makes it double in thickness and makes for a distinct structure that’s easy on the eye.
The pattern uses the metric system.
The first part of the yoke is knitted using German short rows, to elongate the sides of the neckband so the shape frames the face. The neckband can either be rolled down or used edge-up. The shape of the yoke is constructed in a way so as to retain heat in both chest and shoulders.
Pairing your Daiquiri neck with your favorite jacket will make it appear as if you’re wearing a chunky sweater.
The front and the back of the yoke is knitted separately and sewn together in the end using mattress stitch.
After you finish your neck warmer I would recommend blocking it to get the nicest possible shape. You can do this by giving it gentle hand wash using wool soap, and laying it out flat to dry. Or you can lay it flat on a table, cover with a damp towel and steam it gently with an iron.
I hope you enjoy the process and have great fun knitting!
