D'Aisi
If you’re looking for the perfect little treat of a sweater, D’Aisi is the one for you! The simple but strong mosaic shapes framed by cute welts, the richly textured basket weave border and the light, airy shape are a joy to wear and to knit.
She performs wonderfully in warmer weather months, and that dancing mood that comes with slipping her over your head? Just give in to it!
CONSTRUCTION
You will start D’Aisi by working the mosaic front panel, that is worked on the bias. Once the large middle section of that panel is completed, you will pick up stitches at the upper edge of the panel and work a mosaic band. To shape the front neckline German short rows are worked. Then you will pick up stitches at the lower edge of the mosaic panel and work another mosaic band, completing the mosaic center panel.
The center back panel is worked after that, and once completed, stitches are picked up from the long edges of the center front and back panel, and cast on for the neckline to work the side panels sideways. A modified 3-needle bind off is used to join the front and the back.
Instructions are given for both a cap sleeve or a ¾ sleeve. Both sleeve options are worked in the round.
Once the upper part of the sweater is completed, stitches are picked up from the lower edge of the sweater to work the Basket Weave border.
