Daisy Coaster:
Size E/4-3.50mm hook
Yarn used: Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread Fashion 3 (mercerized) #1.
Colors: Maize, white, and Sage.
Guage: 12 stitches by 18 rows in 4”x4” in single crochet. Guage is not critical.
It can be used motif to create a tablecloth which was my original intention.

Daisy Coaster:
Maize (yellow):
Ch 6, Join with slip st to form a ring
Row 1: ch-3 (counts as double crochet), 23 dc. Join with slip st to ch-3 space. 24 dc spaces.
White:
Row 2: slip st to join color, beginning Small shell ch-3(counts as dc), dc, ch-2, 2 dc in same space, skip next 2 dc, Small shell (2 dc, ch-2, 2 dc) in next dc, repeat from around 7 times, join to beginning ch-3. 8 small shells
Row 3: slip st in next dc and ch-2 space (center of small shell) Beginning medium shell ch3(counts as dc), 2 dc, ch-2, 3 dc in same space,ch-1, * medium shell (3dc, ch-2, 3 dc) in center of next shell, ch-1, repeat from * around 7 times, join to beginning ch-3. 8 medium shells
Row 4: slip st in next 2 dc and ch-2 space (center of small shell) Beginning large shell ch3(counts as dc), 3 dc, ch-2, 4 dc in same space, ch-2, * large shell (4dc, ch-2, 4 dc) in center of next shell, ch-2, repeat from * around 7 times, join to beginning ch-3. Finish off. 8 Large shells.
Sage (green):
Row 5: slip st to join into center of large shell you will be creating a v into the chain spaces of row 2 -4, ch-1,* 3 sc in center if shell, sc in next 4 dc, create the v sc in ch-2 space between shells of row 4, ch-2, sc in ch-1 space between shells of row 3, ch-2, sc in space between shells of row 2, sc in ch-1 space between shells of row 3, ch-2, sc in ch-2 space between shells of row 4, sc in next 4 dc, repeat around from , join to 1st sc.
Row 6: slip st in next sc, ch-1 and sc in same space (should be the middle sc in center of shell),
ch-3, skip next sc, 4 dc in ch-2 space of row 4 (between the v created), ch-3, skip the nest 5 sc, sc in next sc (should be middle sc in center of shell), repeat from * around. Join to ch-3 space.
Row 7: ch-5 (counts as dc and ch-2 space) and dc in same space, 4 dc in ch-3 space, dc in next 4 dc, 4 dc in ch-3 space, (dc, sc, dc) in sc space, repeat around. Join in ch 5 space. 112 dc and 8 ch-2 spaces.
(Optional variation) Maize (yellow):
Row 8: join color with slip st in ch-2 space, ch-5 (counts as dc and ch-2 space) and dc in same space as joining, dc in next 14 dc, (dc, ch-2, dc) in next ch-2 space. Repeat around. Finish off. 128 dc and 8 ch-2 spaces.
