Daisy Comes Calling
Daisy Gardiner was the eighth child, and fourth daughter, of Samwise and Rosie (née Cotton) Gamgee. She had three younger brothers, Bilbo, Robin, and Tolman, and two younger sisters, Primrose and Ruby.
The Daisy Comes Calling set is a bonnet and mittens set worked in a warm two-colour slipped stitch motif. The density of this stitch makes it ideal for winter babies.
The mittens are worked without thumbs which makes them easier to slip onto busy little hands and helps prevent baby from scratching themselves; they are intended for babies who have not yet mastered grasping, so the instructions cover only 3 months and 6 months sizes.
The bonnet is given in sizes for babies up to 12 months. It is designed to snugly cover the ears without the need of ties, but optional instructions are given to add ties to prevent hat escape.
Materials Needed:
The mittens are worked in the round at a small circumference; you will need circular needles or dpns to work the mittens.
The bonnet is worked flat and may be worked on either straight or circular needles.
3.25mm (US size 3) needle or one size smaller than size needed for gauge
