The Daisy Pillow is pure 60’s flower power happiness! Don’t let the unconventional shape fool you. With its rhythmic increases and decreases, the Daisy Pillow is very beginner friendly. Sister and/or Spun Cloud is worked in the round to create a cute little bloom that will brighten your home year-round. No watering required!
Pattern details:
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate Knitter
Needle Size:
Size US 15 (10 mm) 40”/ 100 cm circular needles for magic loop (or shorter if desired)
Size US 15 (10 mm) double-pointed needles (optional - if you use the magic loop technique then you will not need these)
Size US M-13 (9 mm) crochet hook for seaming your pillow sides together
Adjust needle / hook sizes as necessary to match gauge. Note that if you adjust your needle size, the crochet hook should be approx. 1 mm smaller than the knitting needle when gauge is met.
Finished Measurements:
18” / 46 cm diameter
Gauge:
9 sts and 13 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch worked flat, unblocked
Materials:
Main Color (MC petals): 2 skeins of Spun Cloud or Sister (100% Wool, approx 100 yds / 200 g)
Contrast Color (CC center): 1 skein of Spun Cloud or Sister (100% Wool, approx 100 yds / 200 g)
*** Many Knit Collage yarns will work for this pillow as long as you match gauge. Our mixed stripe version is knit using a Mini Skein Kit. These yarns will work: Dreamland, Daisy Chain, Friendship Bracelet, Wildflower, Cast Away, any of the Mini Skein Sampler Kits. We do not suggest our super bulky yarns Wanderlust or Pixie Dust.
*** Our samples are shown in these color combinations: Soft Ivory Sister (MC) / Honeysuckle Spun Cloud (CC), Dusty Pink Sister (MC) / Soft Ivory Sister (CC) and for the mixed stripe version - Love Cloud Spun Could (MC) / Daisy Chain (CC) - for one side of the pillow and Natural Mini Kit (MC) / Daisy Chain )CC) for the other side.
Pillow insert - we recommend these ones.
