This project is a towel holder, rather than a towel topper. A towel topper combines a crocheted top that is permanently attached to a towel; a towel holder is two separate parts—the holder itself and the towel that is inserted into the crocheted ring. Having the two parts means that the towel can be removed and washed separately. Towels can also be interchangeable with the holder.

The Daisy Towel Holder is crocheted using medium weight cotton such as Lily’s Sugar ‘n Cream, Pisgah’s Peaches & Crème or Lion Brand cotton. Two different yarn colors are used for this project: one for the main body and a different color for the daisy/flower accent. The main body yarn color requires only a large golf ball size ball to complete; the flower requires even less.

This project is fast, fun and very satisfying to create. It makes a great hostess, birthday or Mother’s Day gift, especially paired with a commercial towel or other items crocheted to match, such as a potholder, dishcloth and/or a scrubby.

A suggested matching potholder might be the Gingham and Daisy Potholder that is also a free pattern/design found on my blog in the May 2012 file.
