Daisy's Bouquet
Daisy’s Bouquet is a simple crochet square with beautiful grape hyacinths created by using Popcorn stitches and overlay crochet. It is named after the scene in Downtown Abbey where Daisy marries William.
I have worked up three examples of the square, each with a very different feel.
SQUARE A
For this square, I used Scheepjes Scrumptious and a 4mm hook. It has a single-colour background, with contrasting colours for the stems and flowers.
Gauge: 5.5cm/2.16” at the end of Round 3
Size: 20cm/8”
Yardage: 100m/110yds
SQUARE B
For this Rainbow Square, I used Scheepjes Softfun and a 4mm hook, changing colours on every round except the last one.
Gauge: 6cm/2.36” at the end of Round 3
Size: 21.5cm/8.5”
Yardage: 110m/120yds
SQUARE C
For this square, I used Scheepjes Stone Washed XL in a single colour to highlight the texture of the square.
Gauge: 7.5cm/2.95” at the end of Round 3
Size: 26.5cm/10.5”
Yardage: 140m/153yds
