Damora shawl is a great introduction to knitting lace shawls. It’s not too complicated and the rhythmic pattern is easily memorised. Also, it’s not quite as big of an undertaking as an all over lace shawl.
Worked from the top down with a body of garter stitch, with the lace panel knit on sideways.

This crescent shaped shawl is worked from the top down. The increases are worked along the outer edges as well as inside the body, creating three distinct triangle shapes.The lace panel is knit onto the garter body sideways, seamlessly finishing the shawl.
