These gorgeous 12” long fingerless mitts were designed for one of the funkiest girls I know. She wears them with a short-sleeved black pea coat. Perhaps I shouldn’t have designed such flashy mitts for someone who already gets a lot of attention but Dana doesn’t seem to mind. Dana has been accosted in stores and restaurants, by random people, classmates and even homeless people about where she got these.

This is a really flexible pattern. You can use the same colour of ribbon and yarn, like I did. For Dana’s mitts, the buttons were ceramic leaves in the same colour, giving them a great monochromatic look. I used copper buttons on the pair pictured. You could skip the buttons altogether and leave the ribbons hanging in a long bow. This pattern is really for three different pairs of mittens. It can be for one pair of mittens where the two mittens are different (as pictured above) or for two matching mittens in either of the patterns listed below.
