Ideal for chilly October nights or ghostly gatherings anytime of the year, Dance of the Undead is a warm, double knit cowl that is completely reversible and is designed to fit in a single loop around your neck.

It’s a pattern that is suitable for adventurous beginner!

Double knitting in the round is easier on my brain than double knitting flat and a good introduction to the technique. No pesky reversing the pattern in your head as you flip from back to front - the color you see on the chart is the color you knit first! No worrying about selvedge edges! What could be better!

Notes about the pattern:

Charted

  • Two colors of yarn are needed with approximately 300 yards per color needed (for a 4 repeat cowl).
  • Knit in 100% alpaca I got years ago at the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Tag said it had 400 yards to a skein. I think I used a little more than half. To be on the safe side, I would say 300 yards each color for a 4 repeat cowl.
  • Sample is 44” in diameter and has 4 pattern repeats. Add or subtract repeats to get the size you would like (each repeat for me is about 11”)
  • Links to videos are included for basic double knitting techniques, as well as cast on/cast off variations for a little more customization of your cowl.
