Pick your dance partners with the Dancing Duo Stocking. A riot of colors and motifs keeps the knitting interesting, and there is room at the stocking’s top to add a name in duplicate stitch. This stocking starts just above the toe with a provisional cast-on and is worked in a straight tube up to the cuff, then stitches are picked up for the toe and peasant heel.

Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); size 7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook; waste yarn for provisional CO and heel placement; tapestry needle.

NOTES

• This stocking begins with a provisional cast-on and is worked in the round from the bottom up as a straight tube, with waste yarn inserted for the peasant heel. After the tube is complete, the peasant heel is worked, then the toe is worked down from the provisional cast-on.

• The charts are worked using the stranded method. Always pick up the background color over the pattern color and pick up the pattern color from under the background color. Keep floats loose. For floats longer than four stitches, tack stranded yarn on wrong side of work.

• Three stockings are shown, one each using Charts A, B, and C.

• Space is provided at the top of the stocking for personalization using duplicate stitch.
