Dancing Leaf Shawl
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
This “Dancing Leaf” (sometimes called Vine Lace) stitch pattern probably can’t be bettered as an introduction to serious lace knitting. There are four rows to the pattern: two are purled. So you work the first row, then purl the next; the next pattern row is exactly the same as the first row, but offset by one stitch. Purl a row, then start over. Simple. But when showcased over a large field of fabric, as here, and since Selesnick has chosen such a luxe yarn as the Savoy (52% silk, 48% merino), it looks rich and magical and like it was woven by fairies.
