This shawl is a rectangle that is knit from end to end. It uses a tradition Shetland stitch pattern called the Shetland Twins. The hexagons are usually arranged in horizontal rows but I decided to trying setting them on a diagonal.

The yarn I used was a handspun spun from a blend of Cormo, Merino, Rambouillet, silk, and bamboo.

Because of the way the basic motif is arranged you can stop knitting whenever you have decided that it is long enough or you ran out of yarn leaving enough to knit the seed stitch border. You can also make it narrower by eliminating one or more of the diagonals.

Warning - the pattern has not been test knitted by anyone other than myself so there may be errors. Please let me know if you find any and I will post a corrected version. Thanks.
