Dancing to a Differing Cadence
Dancing Leaves with a twist…..new leaf shape, new layout, new lower edge. Hills and Valleys. Not your everyday pattern. Not all written, not all charts….something a little different.
The crescent shape shawl has a 4 st. decorative top edge, 2 leaf sizes and a lower triangular edge knit on after body is done. All rows are knit with the exception of the neck edge. No fancy stitches. Short rows are made using the Double Stitch. A method I have come to really appreciate, so easy. You simply knit to where you need to turn and do just that, turn your work. Not sure, check out Mimi Kezer on YouTube. She makes it so easy.
I am presenting this pattern as a Road Map. I show the direction and how far to go in each row, just follow the signs along the way. And if you get lost give me a shout.
Knit with Miss Babs Yowza, 560 yds in one skein, no joining in the background. No worry about color difference in skeins. 2 skeins, one for the main body and another for the leaves. Lots of great choices available. Plover and Underbrush used in example.
Size #6, 4.0 mm. Knitting needles, Straight or circular for the body. Circular for the edging, 32” min.
1 Marker.
Finished size using this yarn and after wet blocking 23” down the middle back and 73” across the shoulders.
