Dandelion Clock Socks
The Dandelion Clock Socks are knitted cuff down. All the fancy stuff happens right at the beginning, with a ribbed horseshoe lace pattern. This is followed by a simple eyelet pattern down the leg and the foot. Note the cuff pattern varies between sizes. Be sure you’re knitting from the correct chart. This pattern uses a heel flap and gusset construction, and a simple wedged toe.
Like most gardeners, I’m not ecstatic about weeding. It’s an endless task, and all those unwanted interlopers seem to reappear as fast as I can pull them out. There is one exception. I love dandelions. These cheerful yellow flowers bookend the summer growing season. They lift my spirits in the shortening days of autumn, and make me feel hopeful in spring. And I love the transparent, spherical seed heads that come along afterwards. They remind me of crisp mornings in the school playground, trying to blow away the whole head in one huge puff.
