Make a small rattle prop to turn the cute and harmless lantern snake into a Very Dangerous Rattle Snake!

This is a free add-on with instructions for the rattles only - for the snake, you will need the Snake with lanterns pattern.

Tools and materials
~ same weight of yarn as for the snake, in white and yellow or colors of your choice (for the baby rattle) / in beige (for the snake rattle)
~ crochet hook: same size as for the snake (suggested: 2.75mm/US size C if using DK yarn, 3.5mm/size E for worsted)
~ stitch marker, pair of scissors, yarn needle
~ fiberfill stuffing, pair of tweezers (for the baby rattle only)
~ dental floss or strong thread (for the snake rattle only)

Difficulty
This is an easy pattern suitable for crocheters who are confident with basic stitches (ch, sl st, sc, working in BLO) and frequently used amigurumi techniques (magic ring, invisible decrease).

The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology (UK/Aus equivalents provided). It contains many in-progress photos, but also includes a text-only appendix for easy printing, if you prefer working from a printed pattern but want to save ink and paper.
