This is a 3 dimensional pattern for a human skull. It is worked in several sections. Our human skull is formed by 7 separate bone pieces, as well as the jaw and zygomatic arches. You will also make 2 eye sockets that fit inside to give the eye openings depth.

I have marked spots along the edges of the pieces with small pieces of seven different colored yarns. These are color coded to allow you to match up the skull bones. This will help you when you go to assemble the skull pieces.

You will need approximately 150 yards of heavy weight feltable yarn for the main skull pieces. You will need 75 yards of white sport weight yarn for the teeth. You will need an additional 30 yards of gray and approximately 15 yards of black for the eye sockets.

I used small pieces of sticky backed Velcro (the hook side), and stuck labels to the sticky side. These temporary labels can be applied to the knitted pieces for identification, then removed as you sew the pieces together.
