Dar (Romanian Language) – present, gift

Dar is a top-down sock pattern that offers you the chance to use variegated leftovers with an asorted solid/ semi-solid for a unisex pair.

If you have a wild variegated skein that didn’ t work with other patterns, maybe Dar is the answer. Plus, if you use different MC colours, you could make 2-3 pairs from the same wild skein.

I used about 40g MC Cascade Heritage and 22g CC of a leftover variegated for a 60st sock, size 3.5 UK/ 5.5 US/ 36 European shoes. You could adjust the pattern to suit your yarn amounts.

It knits up quickly because you change from stripes to the textured pattern, then stripes again - no time to get bored.

There are instructions for a new short-row heel with a mini-gusset for a comfortable fit. I would be very happy if you tried it.
