’Darcy’ Vintage Style Chevron Cape / Shrug / Shawl (4ply) Knitting Pattern!

Knit this super, gorgeous one-of-a-kind individually styled and unique chevron cape. It is suitable for knitting up for both day or evening, perhaps over a dress or blouse. It will also be a fabulous and stylish fashion accessory to wear during the summer months too! This pattern uses a stunning 4ply 100% wool sock yarn and so this cape will be both warm and cosy in the winter and cool in the summer!

This cape knitting pattern was created with a unique chevron pattern within it. Around the collar is a pretty picot edging which looks complicated but is rather simple to knit.

Unique features
This cape knitting pattern is stunning when knitted up in sock yarn as the variegated colours in the sock yarn will show up as gorgeous blended stripes. A fantastic feature of this knitting pattern is that you can knit this pattern up in any 4ply sock yarn as long as it is 100g / 420 metres in the ball. It is essential to knit a tension swatch to get the right tension.

This pattern is suitable to knit up a One Size Ladies - 10 - 16 UK Ladies / 34 - 40” / 94 - 109cm.
Finished item measures: 112cm (at widest point when laid flat and opened out).
Width: 45cm (from collar to edge).

Equipment needed
2 x 100g/420m - Lana Grossa Solo Sock/4 Ply Yarn. Shade 5207.
3.5mm needles (for collar edge).
5mm circular needles (for main pattern).
6mm circular needles (for starting edge at the bottom).
Round end small tapestry needle.
20mm (Auburn Shade) Button.
Matching yarn or thread to sew the button on to the cape.

Knitting skills needed to complete this item include
Cast-on/Cast-off, Knit, Purl, Knit in to the front and the back of a stitch, Knit stitches together, Pass slipped stitch over another stitch, Slip stitch.
