Daria Sweater
Daria Sweater got the name from the best crafter I knew, my grandma Daria. She passed when I was in the middle of designing this sweater and it became my ode to her, a way to honor her memory and to say goodbye.
It is a perfect sweater for the first spring sunshine, keeping you cozy but not too hot. You can make it, style it and wear it in so many ways that my testers showed so beautifully.
Daria Sweater has a simple construction with a beautiful lace section on the neckline and sleeve cuffs, a fresh spin of the classic granny stitch. Intarsia colorwork adds extra interest and makes this sweater stand out, whether you go with bold, contrasting colors, soft pastels or even neutrals.
It is finished with a decorative border on the neckline and classic ribbing on the body and cuffs to make it look really polished.
Designed to be slightly cropped, you can easily adjust the length by making more or less base rows. The lace is explained in its own section and supported with photos. There are also photos to help you understand the joining methods (no sewing!)
The Daria Sweater is a part of my Heritage Collection, designed to honor a strong tradition of many generations of crafting women in my family, drawing inspiration from old patterns while also giving them an original designing twist.
