The pattern makes a lightweight, soft and slouchy hat for the first autumn chills. Not against bitter cold winter days, but a nice and female head cover right now.

By using two or three of the threads together a pattern of dense and transparent stripes is created, looking interesting but absolutely easy to knit. And very quick also.

Alterfil M30 is not a knitting yarn but a decorative thread for sewing machines. I choose silver to add a bit of sparkle to the dark alpaca yarn. You can order the thread from the producer via their website, replace it with another silvery thread or if you don’t like it you can go without. I don’t think it alters the gauge that much.
