Darth FM
Darth FM: a Cowl Design in One Act.
by Corrado Lark
The Prologue:
Upon cast on, I fell in love with Becky’s cashmere, which I adoringly call “yarn crack”. From the first to last stitch, it’s a beautiful experience.
There’s also something about red and black that’s striking to me. It cuts through the sea of pink, like I’m finally the goth kid I envied in high school. That said, this design would work with any 2-color combination you can think of, subdued or in high contrast.
Check out kristyglass’s youtube channel to get the full explanation of how I designed this cowl!
Stitches/Techniques Used:
Knit and Purl. Stripes and Simple, Chart-free Colorwork.
The Needs:
US 5(3.75mm) 24” circular needle.
2 balls of ‘Onyx’ Clinton Hill Bespoke DK 100% Cashmere, 100g/250yrds.
1 ball of ‘Scarlet’ Clinton Hill Bespoke DK 100% Cashmere, 50g/125yrds.
Gauge: 18 st. and 28 rows per 4” blocked in pattern.
Final Measurements: 13” width by 19” length.
A special thanks to Becky and Kristy for their continued support in my adventures as an indie knitwear designer. I can’t thank them and the community enough.
