Dashing Calotte is the perfect hat for everyone in your family. The pattern is available in 5 sizes from baby to Adult.
Hat Circumference:
15, (17, 19, 21, 23)”/38, (43, 48, 53, 58) cm
Hat Height:
6, (7, 8, 9, 10)”/5, (8, 20, 23, 25) cm starting

The pattern is worked in the round beginning with a beautiful Criss-Cross Cast On developed by Mayrna Shevchenko. A link to her video demonstrating this method is included in the pattern.

The body of the hat is worked in Dash Stitch, a simple 4 row pattern repeat which can be easily memorized and works up quickly on US 11 (8.0 mm) needles.

Crow shaping is achieved by simple k2tog decreases.

Approximate yardages for each size is given in the pattern. Please note that these are estimates based on sample requirements and if you use a different yarn your might need slightly more or less yarn for your hat. Samples were worked using 5 different bulky yarns (all listed in the yarn requirements) and each individual hat photo is labed with the size made and yarn used.

The difference in gauge between the cast on and the Dash stitch create a natural slightly flaired brim that frames your face while the body of the hat hugs your head to help keep you warm! Even those who don’t feel like they “look good” in hats will look fabulous is this design!
