Daughter of the Fifth house is a circular shawl knit from the center out. It starts with a bursting sun, adapted from an old doily pattern I inherited from my Grandmother when she passed. Then it moves into a decorative fan, an easy to memorize lace pattern, and then some eyelet petals. It concludes with the most epic picot bind off. The shawl is knit in a beautiful gradient set from Cornbread and Honey, but could also be knit in a single color.

I have implemented a Pay What Works model for all of my patterns. The full price reflects how much work goes into each of my patterns. All of my patterns are tech edited and test knit. I know not everyone can afford to pay full price, so I have created 3 coupon codes to help:

KnitLL15 - 15% off KnitLL30 - 30% off KnitLL50 - 50% off

I hope that those of you who can afford to pay full price will, but if you can’t please use the code that works best for you. If you are interested in sponsoring patterns for other knitters, please send me a message!

In astrology, the fifth house is ruled by Leo and in this house we can embrace the part of ourselves that is happy to draw attention. This house is all about creative expression. Few characters embody creative expression as purely as Lwaxana Troi from Star Trek: TNG. She was the Daughter of the FIfth House of Betazed, and one of the most interesting ladies in the galaxy. She was always dressed over the top in finery, and lace, and trinkets. I can absolutely imagine her wearing a large, lacy pi shawl draped over her shoulders.
